On Thursday, May 23rd the #artforawareness installation in the Sambil Mall was officially opened. The art installation is a combination of sea turtle pictures, a plastic ocean made out op plastic bottles with sea turtles swimming in it, an wall painting, a curtain made out of bottle caps and waves that demonstrate cutlery cleaned form the shoreline of potential sea turtle nesting beaches.Read more

Sea Turtle Conservation Curacao & Green Phenix win Grassroots Conservation Award
Last week Sabine Berendse and Ard Vreugdenhil represented Sea Turtle Conservation Curacao during the 39th International Sea Turtle Symposium in Charleston. They participated in 6 workshops, presented in 3, showed the music video “Can you see” which was made at the beginning of 2018 and was a collaborative project with a dozen local artists. Sabine Berendse also presented in the “Future of Conservation” session.

Saturday, January 5th, Sabine Berendse, founder of Sea Turtle Conservation Curacao and Green Phenix was recognized as Global Goodwill ambassador. This recognition is given to people performing humanitarian work while promoting initiatives to serve the people who need them most. Key is taking action with urgency in order to raise public awareness about some of the most pressing issues facing today’s society. GGA is an unbiased group that is 7,000 strong in 170 countries and counting. Since Berendse is the first to be appointed in Curacao, the GAA now welcomes Curacao in their midst. We are very proud an honored to have received this recognition and will continue with even more faith on our mission to make Curacao the heart of a circular revolution in the Caribbean.Read more
Waste No More - Crowdfunding26 November, 2018
Sea Turtle Conservation Curacao and Green Phenix launch a crowdfunding for a pilot project “Waste no more” that fights plastic pollution in the Caribbean at the core of the problem. The project facilitates 20 talented and passionate people work on a solution for the plastic pollution problem. Inspired by Dave Hakkens Precious Plastic V4, “waste no more” aims to build capacity for the Caribbean region, to repurpose waste plastic into meaningful products and to start a circular revolution throughout the Caribbean.Read more
