Our Goals
Circular Economy
Creating a plastic-waste free economy by keeping materials in the loop.
In a circular economy, waste is eliminated, resources are circulated and nature is regenerated to help tackle global challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss and waste management.
Our focus is on plastic, because it’s a major global issue that disrupts natural ecosystems, threatens animals, and affects human health as microplastics enter our food chain and bodies.

All products should be designed, manufactured and used in ways that eliminate waste and pollution.

Inclusive Economy
We stimulate the participation of motivated people from all walks of life.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Social and Labor Affairs, Green Phenix offers a Learn and Work program of 1 year. It is available for people that have been long-term unemployed and who want to reintegrate into the working society.
In 2019 this program started with twelve participants and currently there are twenty four participants.
What is an inclusive economy?
It is a more sustainable society that aims to include all its members no matter what background and so prevent social exclusion.
Why is inclusive economy important?
High unemployment and poverty are a reality for Curaçao. Opportunities are not equal for all. We want to stop rising economic inequity.
How can we achieve it?
Empower individuals by teaching them working skills and sharing knowledge. Find their talents to reach their full potential.

By actively working on 15 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Green Phenix is a major driver of sustainable development on Curaçao.

We can pick-up the recyclable plastic from your organization or event. We can arrange a schedule and frequency best suited for you.
Educational Tours
For businesses and educational facilities
We organize educational tours to teach adults and children about the importance of recycling and how it can be achieved. Tours for adults and children differ.

This is our main operational base where all activities of Green Phenix are carried out and the collected plastic is given a second life.
In this location we create and sell products, we give educational tours, as well as organize children’s activities.

The Legend of Green Phenix
Transformation
A Phoenix is a mythical creature that is magically reborn from the ashes. The turtle shaped Green Phenix, much like the related Phenix, rose from plastic debris instead of ashes.
The enormous amount of plastic debris along shorelines and in the ocean is transformed into a social enterprise with a mission to safeguard oceans.
Green Phenix arose from STCC (Sea Turtle Conservation Curaçao) and was founded for environmental purposes.
