Plastic waste is collected and with innovative technology transformed into new, long-lasting & meaningful products.
How it started
The idea for Green Phenix came at the end of 2018 and the activities started in 2019 in the backyard of the house that belongs to one of the founders, Sabine Berendse.
The social enterprise won several awards in the 2018 and 2019 innovation awards, and in 2019 it won the International Grassroot conservation award.
Thanks to our supporters and partners, in 2020 Green Phenix expanded.
If you would like to visit us and see our work, find out more information about us or take a look at our products, then visit us at Paviljoen Zeelandia.
We do not collect plastic or aluminium at Paviljoen Zeelandia. Green Phenix can collect your plastic upon request, or anyone can always drop off their plastic at our Recycling Station at Sambil.
This is our main operational base. Here all the activities of Green Phenix are carried out and the collected plastic is given a second life. In this location we create and sell products, we give educational tours, as well as organize children’s activities.

Recycling Station at Sambil
You can drop-off your plastic at our recycling container at Sambil. You will find it outside of Carrefour entrance.
Turning plastic waste into new products
With 3D printers we upcycle PET plastic.
We collect bottles and other forms of PET plastic. Once processed, this material is used to print new products.
In addition to recycling PET into new products, we also create 100% recycled PET filaments that can be used for any conventional 3D printer.
HDPE and PP plastic are melted with the extruders and then extruded into any attached mould. Currently, we are making plastic beams and bricks with extruders. Both beams and bricks can be used as building materials.
Our contribution to the sustainable development of Curaçao
